Official Launch of Crystal Head Vodka in Manila | Secret Fresh Gallery

Secret Fresh presents: "Crystal Head Vodka's Official Launch Party in Manila! "

In origin, crystal skulls are human skull hardstone carvings made from precious stones and is claimed to be pre-Columbian Mesoamerican artifacts by their alleged finders. These mythical skulls are said to be found in ancient lands attributed with the Mayan and Aztec civilizations. Unlike other artifacts, these skulls are often claimed to exhibit paranormal phenomena and mystical powers. Because it is made with crystals they are believed to be spiritually charged. This served as the root of the cleverly designed CRYSTAL HEAD VODKA.

Crystal Head has won numerous awards, including a Gold Medal for Excellent Taste at the 2013 Moscow ProdExpo Internation Tasting Contest, as well as a Double Gold Medal from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Cystal Head Vodka is also the official vodka of the legendary English rock band , The Rolling Stones.

The entire process of creating Crystal Head Vodka is resoundingly PURE at heart - from the high quality grain to the pristine waters of Newfoundland, Canada. Crystal Head is quadruple distilled, then filtered seven times, of which three are through semi-precious crystals known as Herkimer Diamonds. No glycol, citrus oil or added sugars are used in the making of Crystal Head Vodka. The result is a pure and extraordinarily smooth spirit making it one of the world’s finest Vodka.

Crystal Head Vodka in partnership with Secret Fresh, celebrates the launching of the ultra premium vodka in the Philippines. Remarkable for its pure spirit and mystical process, the vodka is infused with quality peaches and cream corn blended with fresh water from New Foundland, Canada. Also, it contains no additives. It is filtered multiple times and again specially filtered thrice with Herkimer diamonds and spiritually charged crystals. Herkimer diamonds are high vibration crystals that grow on lands from which the legendary crystal heads were carved. The bottles are originally designed by Dan Aykroyd and John Alexander and is crafted with superior materials and minerals. The collaboration includes various artists who will design and customize limited Crystal Head Vodka Bottles.

Crystal Head Vodka

We got a Crystal Head Vodka in the office! ;)

Because of it's skull shaped bottle, a Crystal Head Vodka is now part of Sonny's growing collection of skulls in our studio.

"Crystal Head is vodka like no other, for a life like no other. An exploration of extraordinary people, places, and ingredients. Beginning with an archaeological mystery dating back thousands of years, we arrive at the deep, glacial waters of Newfoundland, Canada. We continue on to discover the unique crystals of Herkimer, New York before finally making our way into the hands of unique individuals like yourself. And of course, this isn't the end of the story. It's the start of a new one."

The Legend

A controversial archaeological mystery, 13 crystal heads have been found in regions around the world, from the American southwest to Tibet. They’re dated between 5,000 and 35,000 years old, and were supposedly polished into shape from solid quartz chunks over a period of several hundred years. Although according to Hewlett Packard engineers, they bear no tool marks to tell us exactly how they were made.
The heads are thought to offer spiritual power and enlightenment to those who possess them, and as such stand not as symbols of death, but of life.

The Founders

Dan Aykroyd is a well-known actor, musician, entrepreneur and spiritualist; a believer in what he calls the "invisible world" where otherworldly presences are a "form of reality as valid as our normal reality." Partner and veteran fine artist John Alexander has exhibited extensively in the United States and around the world. Together, they were avid researchers of the legend of the 13 crystal heads. And from this inspiration, an idea was born.

Pure Spirit Bottle2

The Bottle

Aykroyd and Alexander wanted the opportunity to get closer to the myth of the 13 crystal heads. After more than two years in development, their moment finally arrived. When their glass depiction of a head was complete, Milan-based manufacturer Bruni Glass declared it to be a bottle of unsurpassed complexity and quality. Now, what to put in it? Vodka became the drink of choice. But with it, a commitment to do something enlightened and different.

Dia De Los Muertos Exhibit | Secret Fresh

Secret Fresh Gallery presents: Dia De Los Muertos Exhibit

The show’s title takes off from the more festive Mexican version of our own Todos Los Santos (which is mistranslated in the vernacular as Araw ng mga Patay or as Undas).

Their persistence in being represented in the arts or in every platform of representation in our visual culture seem symptomatic of our fascination for and for our grasping for our fleeting mortality, hence being more than symbols of death, skulls also signify the preciousness of life that we all have to hold on to as dear and celebrate it for the fullness achieved in living it. Of this existentialist exercise of pondering upon the calcic armature that supports the drapery of flesh and tissue which has been made as a yearly ritual/feast , does it ere yonder reveal our precarious hold on our mortality? We celebrate, we gorge on the deluge of tenuous emotions of sorrow and merriment, but tis the vanity or is it not we just prolong the eventuality of our inescapable end. The themes we like to portray in the pictures we like to hang on our walls seem to bespeak of such. We ponder and wonder but it’s both a miracle and an abomination. Alas, these are portraits of our very frail shells. We fill them up instead with the spirit of infinite jest. A hundred cast resin skulls lined up on a shelf each customized by various artists as diverse as their age, cosmological outlook and style flesh out this philosophical point aside from the numerous drawings, paintings, prints and other sculptural works to complement the aforementioned custom skulls.

Memorabilia Gold My Skull | Seletti

Golden My Skull from Seletti's Memorabilia Gold Collection - made of porcelain and plated with real gold.

Designed by Selab + Alessandro Zambelli

Popular cult icon recreated as a decorative ornament.

the concept for memorabilia is in its slogan "fishing for my memories". seletti uses "childhood memories", re-proposing memories as cult objects in a fine and timeless material: porcelain. A subtle word play in its translation, where decoration becomes consolation, bookmarking time, crystallizing memories, the past becoming the present.
